3 Habits That Make a Big Difference in My Health

Image
I believe that taking care of your health doesn't have to mean these huge changes or strict routines. I believe that the small changes are the ones that matter the most. I believe that small and  consistent habits have the biggest impact on someone's health. Here are the three simple things I've added to my daily routine that have made a noticeable difference in how I feel!      The first habit I have been focusing on trying to build every day is drinking more water. It sounds very basic and I'm sure most people focus on this habit a lot, but there is a huge difference in my body when I am well hydrated and not. I used to be very bad with not drinking water and only drinking pop and other sugary drinks. I still occasionally drink pop from time to time, but slowly I have been making the change to water only. Stop Comparing Yourself to Others

When I was younger , around the age of 18, I caught myself constantly comparing my life to other people's. It felt like everyone else had everything figured out, while I felt clueless and had no idea what I was doing. The comparison I struggled with the most was about my plans for life after high school. Some of my friends were committed to a college and they made it seem like that was the only option after high school. I did plan to go to college, but at the time I was unsure of the whole process. I didn't know what my major would be, I didn't know what college I would go to, I wasn't sure if it was really what I wanted, and I didn't know if it would be affordable for me. I almost felt peer-pressured in a way because I wanted to be like my friends and other kids my age.      But one day, I realized how draining that mindset was. C...

Learning to Skateboard

Image
When I decided to try out skateboarding for the first time, I thought it was just about learning tricks and cruising around. What I didn't realize was how much it would challenge my balance, core strength, cardio, and mental. But starting to skateboard has been one of the most rewarding activities I have done in a while, and I will tell you why.       I have had an itch these last few years to try out new and different things. For example, I have spent countless hours learning how to play golf, chess, tennis, solve different Rubik's cubes, and rock climb. I really enjoy trying new things and testing my body physically and mentally to pick up a new skill. My recent urge was to try out skateboarding. I have only been skateboarding for a few weeks now, and I can honestly say it is not what I expected. I knew it would be difficult, no matter how easy people on YouTube make it look, but I had no idea what I was getting myself into.  ...
